Accompanynig Persons Program - Optional Tours



We have organized a number of tours especially for the GDN 2012 Accompanying Persons Program.
ATTENTION: The GDN 2012 Accompanying Persons registration fee does NOT include these tours.

Please, contact Luck Travel Agency to book the tours you wanted. The tours are available to register separately.

- Tours do not include meals (unless otherwise specified) nor entrance fees to churches, convents, forts, museums, parks etc.
- Must have a minimum of 8 passengers.
- English speaking guides accompany the group throughout the whole programme.
- All fees are in Reais Currency. US $ 1.00 ~ R$ 1.80 (29 January 2011).

City tour Recife + Catamaran tour - R$ 78,00 per person
full day: 9:00 – 18:00


This offers the visitor the chance to see the best of Recife.
The tour begins with a visit to the Cachaçaria Carvalheira Factory, where the cachaça (sugar cane rum) is aged in oak barrels. Here, we will learn a bit about the production process of the distilled beverage, sugar and its derivatives. After that, a panorama of Recife including the three islands (Recife, Santo Antônio and Boa Vista), the Maurício de Nassau Bridge and Praça da República (flanked by the Governor's Palace, Santa Isabel Theatre and the Law Courts) and a stop at Casa da Cultura (a fine building dating from the 19th century. Originally a prison, it’s now a centre for regional culture, with craft stores and local delicacies).

In the afternoon, a catamaran tour will be waiting for us. On this tour we will be onboard of a Catamaran to see the main touristic and cultural points of Recife from the river.

Porto de Galinhas Beach tour - R$ 50,00 per person
full day: 9:00 – 18:00


Crystal-clear waters of scintillating blue, with multi-coloured tropical fish and many other marine species, plus vast coconut groves make Porto de Galinhas beach a striking idyllic symbol of natural beauty combined with the peace and calm of a traditional fishing village.
In the nineteenth century, slaves were smuggled into the country via this beach which today is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Brazil.
Optional trips by jangada (traditional fishing raft) to the rock pools (only at low tide) and buggy rides to Pontal de Maracaípe and de Muro Alto beaches are available.

In Olinda the visitor can enjoy a breathtaking view of Recife and Olinda from Alto da Sé, as well as visiting the churches of Sé and Misericórdia.
During carnival these sloping streets teem with revellers following the traditional giant puppets, like the Homem da Meia-Noite (Midnight Man), or joining in the town's colourful carnival troupes. Olinda has been declared a World Natural and Cultural Heritage Monument by UNESCO.

Carneiros Beach tour - R$ 62,00 per person with boat crossing

One of the locals' favourite beaches for watersports, this unspoilt location has calm, shallow waters ideal for diving, plus broad sands perfect for playing and sunbathing. Carneiros is located 90 km south of Recife and, with its dense coconut groves, is a fine example of a beautiful Northeast Brazilian beach.
