OPTIONAL TOUR – FERNANDO DE NORONHA ARCHIPELAGO

Ecological tourism is the natural calling of Fernando de Noronha, an isolated group of volcanic islands located in the South Equatorial Atlantic at 03° 51" south and 32° 25" west, approximately 340 miles from Recife, Pernambuco. Of outstanding unspoiled beauty, Noronha offers many beaches to choose from, with numerous activities for tourists, such as diving, swimming, surfing, and boat and jeep trips. There are also excellent choices for echo-walks. As many beaches on the Archipelago do not have boat access, you can arrange for walking trips and swim in small jewels of warm Atlantic blue waters squeezed between cliffs, caves and hills. These beaches are undoubtedly among the highlights of the southern coast of Pernambuco. Renowned for their beauty and warm, crystal-clear waters, they were once a refuge for adventure travellers seeking peace and quiet in the little fishing villages.

One of Brazils earliest colonial towns, Igarrassu is the location of Igreja de Santos Cosme e Damião. Built in 1535, its considered to be the oldest church in Brazil.

Theres also Forte Orange, built by the Dutch in the 17th century and the Marine Manatee Centre, a research and conservation centre for one of the most precious endangered species still found on the coast of Northeast Brazil. For your pleasure and enjoyment, the tour includes a catamaran trip to Coroa do Avião, a paradisiacal sand bar and observation point for migratory birds.

From the sun-drenched beauty of its white sandy beaches to the generous hospitality of the "Cariocas" (as the towns natives are called), Rio offers a combination that is hard to match. The mostly commonly-found musical rhythms in the region are axé, pagode, forró, arrocha and samba. But Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) and rock are also popular in Bahia and the region has attracted the interest of many Brazilian artists and record producers.
